Yeanasha is an NPC introduced during the Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn saga and the enhanced edition.

Gameplay[]

Yeanasha only appears during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 6 with two other Shadow Thieves, including Arkanis Gath, and Gofus.

The shadow thief's appearance only occurs if Gorion's Ward asked for assistance against the vampire coven when seeing Aran Linvail in the Aran Linvail's Hideout.

If Aran agreed, then all the thieves will appear in the central chamber (with the large table) in the Lower Tombs.

Yeanasha is not controllable by the player, but the creature's script will follow the PC and engage in melee combat with red circled enemies when they are detected.

The Kensai's actions are centered around combat outcomes with Tanova and Hareishan vampires while the party is present in the same area. When those two are defeated, Arkanis Gath will dismiss Gofus and Yeanasha and they'll depart the area.

Yeanasha is scripted to use his Kai ability initially, and then again 30 game seconds later if still in combat. The game has not properly configured the creature file to match up with a level 16 Kensai kit, and no passive bonuses are included in the file design. He just uses Kai as the only special ability.

Mod content[]

Installation of the Sword Coast Stratagems Mod makes some changes to Yeanasha. He is now a level 9/13 Fighter / Thief Kensai. Yeanasha is now properly configured as a Kensai kit, with all the commensurate passive kit bonuses included into his abilities. Since some SCS vampires require +3 weapons to hit them, he now wields a Katana +3. Worn armor is removed, and a Cloak of Protection +1 is equipped.

Several potions are now supplied for scripted use by the Kensai to boost abilities at the start of combat and heal itself when damage is accrued to a set value. A scroll in a quick slot can be used as well.
