Wraith Sarevok is a phantom or wraith-like embodiment of Sarevok Anchev, who was slain earlier in the first saga. This wraith will present the Test of Wrath.

You have finally joined us, to claim your heritage as I had attempted. A pity that you arrive in pieces, weak and pathetic. My death was far more final than yours.

Gameplay[]

The player's quest to collect the Tears of Bhaal during the various tests will pit Gorion's Ward against his old nemesis. This time it is in wraith form. The wraith will threaten, insult, cajole and goad you to unleash the very essence of Bhaal - by surrendering to the ultimate manifestation of retribution and murder - in Slayer Form. The shade dares you to attack him, even after admitting his glee in destroying Gorion, and other atrocities.

There is much dialogue and rebuttal available with Sarevok the wraith. He even tells you:

"I have one of the Tears of Bhaal you will need. I will not hand it over to you, however. You do not deserve it."

The player must make a decision on which way to respond. Will the player harness the wrath within, or refuse it?

If the player decides to unleash the slayer, the wraith shouts:

"YES! YOU *ARE* WORTHY ENOUGH TO BATTLE AGAIN! THE CHILD OF BHAAL INCARNATE!"

If the player refuses the wraith it shouts:

"THEN YOU WERE NEVER WORTHY OF BHAAL'S BLOOD, AND I SHALL CRUSH YOU WHERE YOU STAND!"

In battle the Wraith Sarevok, he attacks as a competent, and highly magic resistant warrior. It will engage in melee the PC with its greatsword until one of you are destroyed. If the player prevails, then a on screen text message displays:

As Sarevok falls, a Tear of Bhaal appears before you, and you place it in your pack.

During the battle with Sarevok, the player's party can join in and gang up on the vengeful creature - or the bhaalspawn can fight him solo, spawn versus spawn.

Note[]

Sarevok wants Gorion's Ward to live up to the heritage of the Lord of Murder and change into the Slayer Form. This action is allowed as the player desires. However, the slayer transformation isn't a requirement to complete the Tear of Bhaal test. It is entirely optional. Regardless of what choices are made in the encounter with Wraith Sarevok, it will result in a fight to the death. The only way to obtain the Tear of Bhaal here is to destroy Wraith Sarevok.

Installation of the Sword Coast Stratagems Mod makes some minor revisions, including a warrior based SCS AI script for better tactical behavior. The creature is scripted to use/consume three random SCS supplied potions for healing or boosting abilities during combat.
