White Dragon Scale functions as splint mail +6, but bards, thieves, and stalkers can wear it without disabling or penalty to thieving skills. Druids can wear it as well, because the armor is made from the scales of a beast and not worked metal. The armor weighs 15 lbs., offers an exceptionally high Armor Class of -2, as well as the usual AC modifiers for splint mail. It offers 50% protection against cold, and the wearer may use the spell Cone of Cold as a special ability three times each day.

Acquisition[]

  • It can be obtained by bringing the white dragon scales to Cespenar in the Pocket Plane for a fee of 5,000gp.
  • The scales can be obtained in Watcher's Keep, which is available from Chapter 2 of Shadows of Amn, but can only be converted into armor by Cespenar in the expansion: Throne of Bhaal.

Description[]

Not surprisingly, this armor created from the scales of a young Ice Dragon provides the wearer with protection from cold and ice.

Bugs[]

As of BG2EE 2.6, Several items that cast area-of-effect spells required creature targets but should not have: Cone of Cold via the White Dragon Scale, Dispel Magic via Purifier, Prismatic Spray via the Helm of Brilliance. This is identified for correction in the pending Enhanced Edition Fix Pack (EEFP). Ref: (chan20.itm, comps65.itm, helm16.itm, sw1h65.itm)
