The bear companion, Wilson, can be found in the Heretic Temple (an area unlocked during Rasaad's Journey). He is held prisoner by Jolstead and can be freed (see Heretic Temple).
He will vanish if the Rasaad's Journey quest is brought to an end, so it is recommended to recruit the bear and bring him to Zaviak as soon as possible once you unlock the Heretic Temple area.
Once freed, Wilson will flee and wait at the northwestern edge of the map, close to where you first enter. Recruit Wilson, bring him to Zaviak and get the Green Dragon Potion (5x) reward.
Like the other quests taking place within the Neera's Hidden Refuge quest, it's recommended that this quest is completed before Finding Daxus.

It is completely possible to negotiate the release of Wilson and still miss the opportunity to recruit him as a companion.
You MUST speak with Wilson prior to conversing with Jolstead, otherwise you will simply receive 5000 experience points for his release, but not be able to complete the quest.
