This stone looks as if it has been split in half. There is an inscription on it:

Two towers to ever guard the tomb, Two wards to now enter the room.

— Blue wardstone

This stone looks as if it has been split in half. There is a picture of a golem on it.

— Green wardstone

Gameplay[]

Both of these Wardstones can be found in containers/shelving in the Watcher's Keep Altar Level. Based on the clues in the description the player might associate their possession with the phrase "two towers" and the golem picture to correlate with the two Guardian Golem creatures found in the locked chamber with the sarcophagus. Or maybe not.

Regardless, if the party has one or two of these wardstones in the inventory, then the Guardian Golem(s) won't activate when disturbing (clicking on) the sarcophagus. The golems will also become hostile if attacked, even with the wardstones.

The wardstones serve no other game purpose. Keeping them in the inventory after exploring the sarcophagus will just take up space, and they can't be sold.

Of course, it's also possible that the party may not ever take either of the wardstones into their possession, and they'll never know what they can do, and perhaps ended up battling the Guardian Golems anyway.
