The wakizashi is a small blade which requires one hand to wield with a length of 12 to 24 inches. It deals 1d8 points of piercing damage, has a weight of 3 lbs. and has a speed factor of 3. Like the short sword, this weapon can be wielded by fighters, paladins, rangers, barbarians, thieves and bards. Multi class fighters can also wield it, such as a Fighter Druid. Although a Druid can wield a scimitar, they may not wield a Wakazashi. It requires 5 Strength to wield this weapon. This item appears in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and can be found in many weapon stores.
