“ | Mmn, how impertinent of you to spy on a lady as she's changing. My name is Voltinabulai... but you may call me Voltine, if you wish.[1] | ” |
Voltine is one of two suspects accused of stalking the twins Louise and Laerta. While she is only worth 60XP if you kill her, instead of a 900XP reward if you kill Gervisse, she does own a Wand of Polymorphing (which she gives you if you kill the other suspect).
“ | There is a dirty old mage in these parts. His name's Gervisse and he lurks around at night, peering in through people's windows. As it is a "hobby" you seem to share, may I presume that you are close acquaintances...? | ” |
This leads to the following entry in your Journal under the quest titled Laerta and Louise:
“ | Voltine, a shape-changing druid, claims that Gervisse is a malevolent voyeur. While I got off to a bad start with Voltine, I sense she is the one telling the truth. | ” |
Once you kill Gervisse, she'll thank you and give you your reward.
“ | So, you have proved yourself to be of some use after all. As I told you, Gervisse was a dirty old man and this city is safer without him. Here, allow me to give this wand as a... thank you for services rendered. | ” |

- Baldur's Gate (1998)
This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate campaign. In the original Baldur's Gate, Voltinabulai has a neutral good alignment even though she's a druid. This is fixed in the Enhanced Edition. The rule inconsistency of an elf as a druid still exists, however.
