The Voidsword is a long sword that may be obtained in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Acquisition[]

After you collecting the Voidstone Shards that are the result of the quest The Creeping Darkness, the smith Jegg in Bridgefort can forge one of four mutually-exclusive weapons, including this one.

This item can be imported into Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. If it is, it can be found in Bodhi's Lair, but only during Chapter Six.

Gameplay[]

This weapon applies entirely magical energy damage (i.e., it does 1d8+3 Magical damage, not 1d8 slashing + 3 magical damage) but is still considered a slashing weapon for Armor Class striking purposes.

Additionally, the weapon will apply no modified damage with Backstab attacks, critical hits, or even the Swashbuckler/Kensai's bonus damage effect (nor will it be affected by Kai), as those only factor in Physical damage.

Target creatures classified as undead are not harmed by this weapon.

Description

Voidsword

To all appearances a standard long sword, one standing long in its presence will soon discover it is far more than that. Specially made by Jegg Hillcarver of Bridgefort, this sword has several voidstone shards worked into the metal of the blade. A powerful weapon when used against most targets, its one great deficiency is in its utility against the undead. Objects of the Negative Material Plane have no effect on the unliving; neither then does this blade.
