Violet Potions raise the strength of the consumer to 25 for a full 24 hours. However, during this, the constitution and dexterity of the user are lowered to 3. It can be consumed by all classes except Wizard Slayer. This item appears in Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. This potion can be bought from a merchant in one tent at the Carnival. The player has one chance to buy one potion for 50 
. The same merchant also sells the Red Potion.

Usage[]
This potion can be consumed without being identified.
It is one of the few items allowing certain classes to open both containers containing the tomes in Candlekeep Catacombs on a solo run, since they either require Knock, a relatively high Open Locks skill, or a Strength score above 22 to bash open. Most notably this includes Clerics, Druids, Shamans and Abjurers. Fighter type classes could also use a Potion of Cloud Giant Strength or of Storm Giant Strength.
