Ulf is a Merchants' League guard who can be found on the first floor in the Merchants' League Counting House after having spoken to Mendas. If Gorion's Ward and party say the wrong things, he and several guards will become hostile. Safe options are either telling him that your business with the Merchants' League is private or that you need to clear your debt for items purchased in Kara-Tur.

- The original Tales of the Sword Coast not only fails to assign Ulf a sex, it also doesn't discern if he's technically a human – by race – or an elf – by animation. The Enhanced Edition tries to fix this by making him a male elf, but keeps the fighter animation while Ulf's a thief from the beginning.
