AR3900BG1worldmap Ulcaster is one of the areas from the World Map.

Ulcaster is an area located to the southeast of Beregost and is notable for being the location where a school of wizardry once stood. The school was founded by the conjurer Ulcaster, who is now a ghost that wanders the ruins of the destroyed school.

...the best of schools...
...a storehouse of arcane knowledge...
...lost, all lost... a common dungeon now...

— Ulcaster

The area is a mix of narrow and wide rocky scrub-lands interspersed with flat-topped, cliff-faced outcrops. The school ruins are located on a large grassy plateau that occupies the northeastern portion of the area. All of these raised areas are accessible by narrow, single file paths. There are a couple of ambushes in the zig-zag, switchback paths in the south, and unless pathing nodes are set to a high count, party members will walk away from the main party, sometimes three at a time.

, the Ulcaster map is a little tricky in that the Area Map is not the same picture as the actual map the party walks on, and the path up to the top of the cliff at coordinates 3150, 1970, is not visible on the former.
