Thief is a type of male human guard in Saradush during Chapter Eight - this creature be encountered when party visits the Kiser's Home - Cellar as part of the Betrayal at the Gates side quest, as well as when exploring the Castle Saradush Basement.
Gameplay[]
This creature might be under a state of normal invisibility when first encountered (it won't expire), but can be removed with the right spell, and will cease if the thief does an invisibility breaking action.
The thief has no specific dialogue if spoken to, and behaves as backstabbing/melee fighting thief, armed with short sword and dagger.
The Assassin kit has some effect on the creature's combat performance especially if it connects on a backstab, dealing a x6 stabbing modifier.
The thief is scripted to quaff its potions of invisibility periodically, to get ready for more backstab opportunities - it will also imbibe a Potion of Extra Healing if hit points fall to 50%.
If the thief is aware of any opponents who are under a state of invisibility or improved invisibility it will automatically enable its Find Traps / Detect Illusion skill (which is 100-value) to dispel any illusions in a 15 feet radius.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod changed the thief/assassin's script to conduct Detect Illusion skill based on more than the party's invisibility state, and it looks for other illusions as well.
A random potion is furnished to the thief (in addition to the doses it already has) for buffing purposes.
