The Wychlaran and the Berserker is Dynaheir and Minsc's companion quest in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

Acquisition[]

Near the entrance to the Underground River caverns stands Julann and Rigah, a Wychalarn and her bodyguard who are also on a dejemma from Rashemen. Speaking with them will reveal they're considering joining the Shining Crusade.

Walkthrough[]

You have the following ways to deal with them:

  • Simply leave them. You'll have to face them later during the Draonspear Castle assault in Chapter Eleven. However, if Dynaheir is in party, they can be convinced to join the Crusade for the same effect, but gaining 6,000 XP.
  • Kill them. There will be a 1 point loss of Reputation, but a gain of 6,000 XP, the Dragon Blade +3, and other minor loot from the bodies.
  • Make Rigah turn against Julann. Minsc and Dynaheir must be in party and have talked to Rigah in a "depressing" way before you show Julann Hephernaan's Ritual Notes. Rigah will give you his Dragon Blade +3 before he vanishes.
  • Expose Hephernaan's evil plans to them. This requires having the Hephernaan's Ritual Notes, having Minsc and Dynaheir in the party, and having talked to Rigah in a "bolstering" way, Wisdom of at least 15, Intelligence of at least 18, or be a Mage or a Barbarian[1]. As thanks, Julann will give Rigah's Dragon Blade and the party will gain 6,000 XP and +1 point of Reputation.

Achievements[]

Doing anything but letting them join the Crusade may prevent getting the All the Enemies achievement. [verification needed]
