Description[]

The royal guard of King Pyronan, ruler of Impiltur, were given 'The Protector' as an honorary show of status. Unfortunately, members of the guard had trouble coming to a consensus amongst themselves as to whom the amulet should go to. After years of internal hostility, the item was lost and the guards were replaced by less greedy individuals.

Gameplay[]

When equipped the amulet confers the wearer with a 1-point bonus to base Armor Class value, as well as a 1-point bonus to all Saving throw values.

This amulet is coded so that it cannot be equipped simultaneously with another similar item, such as Ring of the Princes, The Guard's Ring, Cloak of Protection +1, certain magical armor etc.

These similar protection item restrictions are a carryover from the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition rules. not a game developer notion.

Trivia[]

The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset describes the Amulet of Protection within the Encyclopedia Magica guide.

The PnP amulet version is not titled "The Protector", and the amulet confers the powers of a Ring of Protection plus the protective power of Wolfsbane versus lycanthropes. See the external links for further reading.
