If you are still playing version 3.3 of the mod, refer to this old revision of the walkthrough.

Part 1: Introduction[]

Joining the guild[]

  • Travel to the town of Beregost.
    • HINT: You get access to Beregost in Chapter One, and this quest-line is balanced in such a way that you can start it early, but you can also wait and start it in a later chapter.
  • OPTIONAL: Talk to Commander Whitewood in front of the Burning Wizard to learn more about the Gorgon's Eye and the City Watch.
  • OPTIONAL: Talk to Yumil in front of Feldepost's Inn to discover the location of the Gorgon's Eye hideout.
  • Enter the tunnel entrance(1100.2200) behind Feldepost's Inn and you will find yourself inside the Gorgon's Eye thieves' guild. It may be hard to see because it is covered by a barn roof, but the mouse cursor changes when it's in the right place.
  • OPTIONAL: Talk to some of the characters inside for additional dialog before joining the guild.
  • In the far back room you will find the guildmaster, Baldwin "The Butcher" Glendale(1500.400). As long as you are not Lawful Good, he will invite you to join the Gorgon's Eye. If you agree, you will suffer -2 reputation. If you decline, you will forever lose your chance to join the guild.
    • HINT: While the mod's quest content requires your party to join the thieves guild, its ↓ Stores and ↓ Item upgrades are also available to non-members.
  • After joining, Baldwin will send you to Rigaldo for your initiation trials. These must be completed before you will be acknowledged as a full member of the guild.
    • HINT: That just means you can't access bounties and other guild quests until these are finished.

Diamond in the Rough[]

  • Talk to Rigaldo(900.1100) in the entrance room of the den to receive your first mission. He wants to test your pickpocket and stealth skills by having you steal a gem from Zieke, a fence who is travelling through Beregost.
  • Leave the den and go to the second floor of Feldepost's Inn. You will find Zieke in the southeast room. Pickpocket him to get the "Precious Gem"[1]. If either of his bodyguards see you while in possession of the gem, they will call for backup and turn hostile. There is one bodyguard on each floor.
  • Return to the Gorgon's Eye hideout and speak with Rigaldo while in possession of the Precious Gem. He will have different responses and rewards based on how you handled the mission. You will receive a magic ring[2] that increases the pickpocketing skill of any Thief wearing it by 15% (but cannot be used by Bards).

The Price of Protection[]

  • Talk to Rigaldo again to begin your second and final trial. He wants to test your lockpicking and persuasion skills by having you steal a necklace from Gerard Travenhurst, and then use it as leverage to convince him to pay the guild protection money.
  • Exit the den and enter the large manor at the top edge of Beregost. Go to the bedroom on the second floor and you will be approached by a thief who has just stolen Gerard's necklace. Regardless of your dialog choices, the conversation will end with him turning hostile. After killing the thief, loot the necklace[3] and then return downstairs to talk to Gerard.
    • HINT: To successfully persuade Gerard, you will need to have 18+ in either Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma, and then pick the corresponding dialog option. If you fail, he will send his guards to attack you. After either persuading him or killing his guards, Gerard will agree to your demands but will ask you to return his necklace.
    • CHOICE: Return his necklace.
    • CHOICE: Keep his necklace. You will suffer -1 reputation.
  • Return to Rigaldo. If you chose to keep the necklace then you will receive some extra gold. This will complete your trial phase and you will now be recognized as a full-fledged member of the guild. At this point, Ariosh's questline, ↓ Liedel's bounties, ↓ Zeda's riddles, and a quest from Baldwin, will all become available.

Part 2: The Kerykeion[]

Ariosh's Questline (1/2)[]

  • Ariosh will have 4 consecutive quests available.

Shadows of Revelry[]

  • Talk to Ariosh. He wants you to steal some coin purses from a pair of nobles who are passing through Beregost.
  • Head to the southeast side of Beregost after nightfall and you will find a small gathering of people having a party near the Jovial Juggler.
    • OPTIONAL: Talk to some of the named party-goers to receive some additional information.
  • Speak with Bartender Bobert and ask him about the security.
  • Speak with the Bouncer who will mention Bobert is only serving beer, and not any hard alcohol.
  • Speak with Bartender Bobert and ask him about the beer.
    • CHOICE: Persuasion. If you have 16+ Charisma you can convince Bobert to sell hard liquor by choosing the response "Sometimes rules can be... adjusted for the right compensation..." Failing the Charisma check will give you the option "What if I set you up with one of the lovely courtesans?" which will give you a 50/50 chance of success.
    • CHOICE: Intimidation. If you have 19+ Strength you can convince Bobert to sell hard liquor by choosing the response "I've heard serious accidents can be pretty common in this line of work..." Failing the Strength check will give you the option "Understand this barkeep..." which will give you a 50/50 chance of success.
  • Speak with the Bouncer who will appear distracted by the courtesans.
  • Speak with the Courtesan near the Bouncer and convince her to get his attention by choosing the response "You see, there's a small wager going on, and the guard's involved..."
    • HINT: The correct Courtesan will have a different voice, portrait, and colors from the others.
  • Pickpocket the Noble's Coin Purse from the Nobleman.
    • HINT: Stealing his purse anytime prior to this will result in the Bouncer catching you, taking the purse back, and ending the party.
  • If you were able to convince Bobert to sell liquor, talk to one of the Drunkards on the western side who has a different voice, portrait and colors from the others. Provoke him into starting a brawl by choosing any of the possible responses. During the kerfuffle, the Noblewoman will drop her purse on the ground, and the party will end.
  • Return to Ariosh.
    • 0 purses will net you no rewards.
    • 1 purse will net you 400 exp and 200 gp.
    • 2 purses will net you 600 exp and 400 gp.

Blades in the Night[]

  • Speak with Ariosh to receive his second quest. He wants you to deal with a rival gang who is causing trouble in Beregost.
  • After nightfall, head to the northern part of town in the small garden area behind all the buildings. Blackthorn and two of his rogues will confront you.
    • CHOICE: Fight.
    • CHOICE: Convince him to leave town.
    • CHOICE: Convince him to join the Gorgon's Eye.
  • Return to Ariosh.
    • Killing Blackthorn will net you 400 exp and 300 gp.
    • Convincing Blackthorn to leave or join the guild will net you 600 exp and 300 gp.

Moonlit Retrieval[]

  • Speak with Ariosh to receive his third quest. He wants you to retrieve 3 packages of contraband that are stashed around different spots in Beregost. While in possession of the packages you need to avoid being seen by the City Watch.
  • The locations of the bags are in a barrel just south of the gardens where Blackthorn was, a sack in front of the house next door to Thunderhammy Smithy, and the chest to the east of the southern fountain.
  • If you get caught by the City Watch, there are a few ways you can handle it.
    • OPTION: Fight. Failing the skill checks, or choosing the response "Reckon you're a match for me, do ya?..." will result in the City Watch turning hostile.
    • OPTION: Persuade. You need to have 19+ Charisma and choose the response "Steady on, mate..."
    • OPTION: Intimidate. You need to have 19+ Strength and choose the response "You've got no clue what kind of hornet's nest you're stirrin', do ya?..."
    • OPTION: Distract. If you have 20+ gold on you, you can feign tripping and ask the City Watch to help you pick them up.
    • HINT: If you choose the non-violent options and succeed, you will have 3 seconds to leave sight before they turn hostile.
  • Return to Ariosh after collecting all 3 bags.
    • If you were undetected by the City Watch, you will receive 900 exp and 450 gp.
    • If you were caught by the City Watch but successfully fled, you will receive 600 exp and 450 gp.
    • If you killed 1 of the City Watch, you will receive 400 exp and 450 gp.
    • If you killed more than 1 of the City Watch, you will only receive 450 gp.

Shadows and Echoes[]

  • Speak with Ariosh to receive his fourth quest. He wants you to deal with a traitor in the guild who has been working with the City Watch.
  • During the daytime, place the letter in the barrel that's behind the Burning Wizard.
  • Wait until nightfall and head the fountain in the southwest part of Beregost to find the traitor, Valera. Talk to her.
    • OPTION: Fight.
    • OPTION: Parley. Choose the response "Share your secret..." then "I'll vouch for you..." and you will be teleported back to the guild. Valera will plead her case to Ariosh, who will then either cut her throat, or if Blackthorn joined the guild, signal for him to backstab her.
  • Speak with Ariosh to receive 600 exp and 200 gp. This is the last quest Ariosh will offer until Part 4.

Liedel's Bounties (1/3)[]

  • Talk to Liedel to receive 3 available bounty quests.

Carth:[]

A glutton who failed to pay his debt.

Outdated icon This section is outdated:
It documents version 3.3 of the mod, and needs to be updated for version 4.
  • CHOICE: Spare her, by listening to her story and then visiting Amrius in the Burning Wizard inn top floor – and either bribing him for 300 gp to revoke the bounty, or simply killing him. Then report back to Aisha (+1 reputation, 300 exp). No reward from Liedel, but it still counts as "completing" the bounty.to finish

Sorceress of Shadows[]

  • Talk to guildmaster Baldwin. Now that you're a full-fledged member of the guild, he tells you about his secret project to collect the pieces of an ancient staff called the Kerykeion. He wants you to retrieve a piece rumored to be carried by a witch in the Gibberling Mountains.
  • OPTIONAL: You can now question Saradin in Baldwin's room for more background lore.
  • Travel to the Gibberling Mountains (the area east of Nashkel Mines), and approach the mage Deneb(4200.600) in the canyon in the top-right corner.
She initiates dialog, summons four snakes, and attacks you. Defeat her, and loot the Kerykeion piece[4] off her body.
  • Bring the Kerykeion piece to Baldwin to finish the quest and receive 800 exp.
  • While Baldwin's spies look for the next Kerykeion piece, he wants you to continue your normal guild duties, i.e. accepting tasks from Ariosh, Liedel, and Rigaldo.

Beneath the Ploughshares[]

  • NOTE: To start this mission, you must have completed Baldwin's quest "Sorceress of Shadows".
  • Rigaldo now has another assignment for you. He tells you to steal two rings off the farming woman Karp before she sells them on the black market.
  • Travel to Nashkel, and confront Karp who walks around near[5] the farms in the bottom-left. You have multiple options for getting the rings from her:
    • CHOICE: Pickpocket You can pickpocket the rings off of Karp without the need for conversation.
    • CHOICE: Blackmail. Either threaten to hurt her for the rings, or threaten to tell her husband about them. She hands over the rings. You can then further demand any other treasure she's found, to also get the "Ogre Blade" (a crafting component, see ↑ Item upgrades). You get -1 reputation.
    • CHOICE: Deception
Pretend to be the buyer she has been dealing with. You will succeed if you have 18+ Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, and by picking the corresponding response. If you fail, she will give you a challenge question. The correct code-phrase is "Smells like carrots".
    • CHOICE: Promise to help
Through various responses, Karp will explain that she is trying to flee with her son from her abusive husband. If you can find her a safe way out, she will give you the rings.
  • If you chose to help Karp, return to the guild and speak with Zeda(1000.1300). Choose the response "I met a woman who is looking..." and Zeda will offer to help as long as Karp has enough gold.
  • Return to Karp and tell her the news. She will then hand over the rings and/or the Ogre Blade.
  • Bring the rings to Rigaldo. You get to keep one of them as payment, and receive 600 exp.

Whispers of the Carousel[]

  • NOTE: To start this mission, you must have completed Ariosh's quest "Shadows and Echoes".
  • Rigaldo's next assignment for you is to participate in a big heist of the Nashkel Carnival. Your job is to pickpocket the gamesmens' weapons in preparation for the main heist.
  • Travel to the Nashkel Carnival. Each of the two large tents has four characters with the tooltip "Gamesman" in it. Each of these eight gamesmen carry a stun dart[6]. You must pickpocket these eight darts without getting caught.
  • Bring the eight darts to Ariosh(1100.2300), who is hiding among the trees north-west of the tents. (He leaves to attempt the actual heist, which you are not part of.)
  • Report back to Rigaldo in the den. You will receive 800 gp and 600 exp.

  • Speak with Rigaldo. He wants you to meet with Procus at the Nashkel Carnival to help setup the guild's new operations in Amn.
  • Procus can be found near the jousting lists. Speak with him and he will task you with appropriating the Armor Merchant's Tent which he plans to use as a base for the Gorgon's Eye.

If you have 18+ Charisma and choose the response "This tent's on the verge of collapsing..." the Merchant will leave.
    • CHOICE: Bribe

    • CHOICE: Kill
Choose the dialog option to snap the Merchant neck. You will suffer -2 reputation.
  • Return to Procus. You will receive 600 exp regardless of how you handled the mission. He will then leave and tell you to meet him inside the tent.
  • Go inside the tent and speak to Procus in the back. He wants you to deal with some freelancing rogues in the area and convince them to join the Gorgon's Eye. They are led by the pirate Selena Stardancer.
  • Find Selena and her crew a short distance northwest of the Lotus Tent.
    • OPTIONAL: Speak with Vitiare, who is part of her crew. He will return the 100 gp he pickpocketed from you earlier inside the gambling tent.
  • Talk to Selena.
    • CHOICE: Fight
Attack and kill Selena and her crew with the intention of removing her as competition in the area.
    • CHOICE: Invite her to join the guild
If you want her to join the Gorgon's Eye she will ask you to complete a job for her first. She wants you to steal some incriminating documents against her and her crew that are being held in the Amnian Barracks in Nashkel.
  • If you chose to work with Selena, head over to the barracks and unlock the northwest chest and loot the Incriminating Evidence item.
  • Return to Selena with the Incriminating Evidence. You will gain 600 exp. She and her crew will leave and make their way to the guild's tent.
  • Regardless of how you handled the mission, return to the tent and speak with Procus. He will give you another task to steal 3 sacks of gold.
  • The first one is located in the left chest inside the Potion Merchant's Tent in the Nashkel Carnival. The second one is located inside Samantha's room on the second floor of the Nashkel Manor in Nashkel. The third one is located inside the chest behind the Bartender inside the Nashkel Inn in Nashkel.
  • Return to Procus with all 3 bags to receive 600 exp.

Liedel's Bounties (2/3)[]

  • Speak with Liedel to obtain 3 new bounties.

Europea:[]

A runaway slave.
Find her at: High Hedge ▸ outdoors near the left map edge (300.2400).

  • Other bounty hunters have already caught her, and initiate conversation when you approach. Regardless of what you say, you have to fight them.
  • Then talk to Europea, who tells you to bring her to a "castle to the north" before falling unconscious and becoming an item[7] in your inventory.
    • CHOICE: Bring her to Liedel. When Liedel realizes Europea is a child, she will refuse to bring her back to the client. Instead she will ensure that Europea will be safe and that the client will be dealt with. (1000 gp, 600 exp)
    • CHOICE: Free her. To do so, travel to the Friendly Arm Inn, enter the temple building there, and give Europea into the care of the innkeeper's wife Gellana Mirrorshade, who also removes the slave collar[8] for you (+1 reputation or 25 gp). Then use that collar to collect the bounty from Liedel (500 gp, 600 exp).

Katreda:[]

A dryad who stands in the way of a logging project.
Find her at: Larswood ▸ outdoors, near the top (2200.800).

  • CHOICE: Kill her, by turning her hostile through dialog. You can then loot her magical amulet[9]. Collect the bounty from Liedel (500 gp, 600 exp).
  • CHOICE: Take her side. She tells you to kill the loggers. Find them south of her, below the tower (2000.3500). Talk to their leader Asnabel, and it inevitably leads to a fight. Report back to Katreda, who gives you her magical amulet[10] (+1 reputation, 600 exp). No reward from Liedel, but it still counts as "completing" the bounty.

Zhontac:[]

A necromancer who is both a bounty target and bounty commissioner.
Find him at: Beregost ▸ outdoors (4200.2400) (only at night).

  • CHOICE: Complete his evil task. Agree to get the body he wants. Wait until daytime, then talk to the blue-haired human[11] man Magnus(2700.3100) by the fountain in Beregost, and choose the option to snap his neck and collect his corpse[12]. Wait for nightfall again, then bring the corpse to Zhontac, who disappears. Then get your payment from Liedel (500 gp, 600 exp).
  • CHOICE: Kill him, by taking to him but refusing to accept his task so that he turns hostile. Then get your payment from Liedel (500 gp, 600 exp).
  • CHOICE: Do both. After completing his task, simply turn him hostile in the same conversation and kill him. Then get your double-payment from Liedel (1000 gp, 600 exp).

The Case of the Counterfeit Coins[]

  • Speak to Gilbald(1500.1200) in the room across the bridge in the den. He tells you that someone used counterfeit coins in the little casino he runs here, and wants you to investigate.
  • Talk to the middle gamesman behind Gilbald, to learn that three players are potential suspects: Xevec, a woman, and Hugo.
  • Ask Meredia across the room about Xevec, to learn that he also spent fake coins on her courtesans. She directs you to the north-end of Beregost.
  • Leave the den, and confront the beggar Xevec(1900.1400) in the northern part of the Beregost outdoors map. He has fake coins on him. At this point, you could just kill him and jump to the end of the quest. Alternatively, listen to him: He claims he was duped by the woman who was also at the game table, and that she wanted to murder another woman named Sam in Nashkel.
  • Travel to Nashkel, and enter the Manor house in the top-right corner of the area. You may notice that the lady of the house is called "Samantha", although she has nothing relevant to say.
  • Pickpocket the "Chambermaid" in the kitchen on the ground floor of the manor, to find one of the fake coins on her. Confront her with it[13], and she admits it was her. It is up to you whether to kill her, make her trade her valuables[14] for her life, or make her turn herself in.
  • Return to Beregost, and talk to the beggar Xevec again. It's up to you whether to kill him or let him live.
  • Report back to Gilbald in the den. You get 400 gp and 300 exp if you cut the quest short after finding Xevec, or 800 gp and 1000 exp if you exposed the chambermaid.

Bloody Petals[]

  • NOTE: You must have completed Liedel's bounties and the Counerfeit Coin quest to receive this mission.
  • Talk to Rigaldo and he tasks you with strong-arming the drug dealer Borland of Beregost.
  • Exit the den, enter the house(4000.2000) opposite the Red Sheaf inn on the east side of Beregost, and confront Borland inside it.
    • CHOICE: Threaten him into shutting down his operation.
To be successful, you need to have either 18+ Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, and pick the corresponding response. He gives you the drugs[15].
    • CHOICE: Convince him to make regular payments.
To be successful, you need to have either 18+ Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, and pick the corresponding response.
  • Failing the skills checks will result in Borland summoning a corrupt Flaming Fist Officer, Zylark, to attack you. After killing him, speak with Borland and he will agree to your demands. When you leave Borland's, you will be confronted by more Flaming Fist soldiers who will attack you.
  • Report back to Rigaldo in the den. In addition to 800 exp, you will get 400 gp for securing regular payments or 800 gp for shutting him down.
  • You get no respite, however, because as soon as the conversation ends, Ariosh storms in:

Bombs over Beregost[]

  • As soon as you turn in Rigaldo's task "Borland's Spicy Secret", Ariosh sounds the alarm that the rival Shadow Thieves are attacking the guild. Guildmaster Baldwin orders his underlings to mount a defense. He instructs you to collect your guild armaments, and then kill any enemies you find outdoors.
  • OPTIONAL: Talk to Eurynome Rhade in the entrance room of the den to receive your "guild armaments", which is a magic dagger and magic ring.
  • Leave the den, and kill any[16] hostile Shadow Thieves you find on the streets of Beregost. The one(2200.2300) closest to the statue in the town square drops an encoded note[17]. Be sure to take that.
  • Bring the note to guildmaster Baldwin inside the den. He decyphers that the Shadow Thieves are meeting with a smuggler up north to acquire a Kerykeion piece. He sends you up north to reach the smuggler, Nagate, before they do.
  • Travel to the Bandit Camp area, and confront Nagate(2000.2900) who stands alone near the stone ruins. No matter what you say, a cutscene plays in which he is assassinated by a Shadow Thief named Thamuz.
  • Thamuz then initiates conversation. No matter what you say, it ends in combat. Defeat him and his fellow thieves, and be sure to loot the Kerykeion piece[18] off his body.
  • Bring the Kerykeion piece to Baldwin. You receive 800 exp, and learn[19] that he wants to use the Kerykeion as a weapon for a hostile takeover of the Shadow Thieves.
  • NOTE: Rigaldo, Ariosh, Liedel and Meredia all have new quests available, as well as Zeda's third set of riddles.

Part 4: Secrets of Baldur's Gate[]

Shadows of Knowledge[]

  • Speak to Rigaldo. The monks at Candlekeep have hired the guild to retrieve a tome that was stolen on its way to the keep. Considering your background with Candlekeep, Rigaldo is tasking you with this mission. You are instructed to speak with Ravenscar in order to gather more info.

Ariosh's Questline (2/2)[]

  • Ariosh will have 5 consecutive quests available.
Note:This questline is optional and does not need to be completed. It is on the morally evil side.

Street Levies[]

Shadows of Deception[]

Shrouded Alliances[]

Shadows of the Valkyrie[]

Divided Loyalties[]

Liedel's Bounties (3/3)[]

  • Speak with Liedel to obtain 3 new bounties.

Alaric:[]

Lord Varlind:[]

Isla Darkcloak:[]

Escort the Escort[]

  • Speak with Meredia(1500.1200) in the room across the bridge in the den. She wants you to find Ilena, one of her courtesans, who failed to return from a visit to a client.
  • Exit the den, and enter the client's house(4100.2600) next to the smithy in Beregost. Talk to the injured Gatalea here, who says that her husband tried to kill her. She then succumbs to her wounds, so loot the red piece of cloth[20] that she drops.
  • Bring the piece of cloth to Meredia in the den. She tells you to find the uniform it belonged to.
  • Travel to Nashkel, and approach Isley(4000.1300) outdoors under the water tower. He has Ilena tied up, and threatens to cut her throat if you come closer.
    • CHOICE: Save her by sniping him.
If your protagonist has 18+ DEX and is wielding a bow or crossbow, you can select a dialog option to quickly draw and fire, killing him before he can react (250 exp). Be sure to talk to Ilena afterwards.
    • CHOICE: Save her by dueling him.
If your protagonist has 18+ CHA, then the dialog option calling on him to "face you" actually succeeds[21] in drawing him away from Ilena and attacking you. Then you can kill him in normal combat (250 exp). Be sure to talk to Ilena afterwards.
    • CHOICE: Let him kill her.
Doing anything other than the above two solutions, leads to him slitting Ilena's throat and then attacking you. Kill him (250 exp).
  • Report back to Meredia in the den in Beregost. You receive 800 exp if Ilena died, or 1000 exp and 500 gp if you saved her.

Part 5: Loyalty's Edge[]

Order of the Black Lotus []

Outdated icon This section is outdated:
It documents version 3.3 of the mod, and needs to be updated for version 4.
  • Rigaldo now has a new task for you: Smuggling drugs to a buyer in the carnival.
He hands you 5 pounds of Black Lotus[22].
  • Attempt to travel anywhere via the worldmap, and you are waylaid by three Flaming Fist mercenaries who will detect the lotus on you.
    • CHOICE: Fight them. → -1 reputation if you initiated the hostilities.
    • CHOICE: Bribe them. → -1 pound of the lotus, reducing your share of the profit.
    • CHOICE: Avoid them. (Exit the map before interacting with them and continue your journey.) → Nothing changes, the game registers that you went through a Flaming Fist waylay though.
  • Continue to the Nashkel Carnival, and once there, enter the tent(4800.2200) on the right map edge.
Inside, talk to the "Commoner" to offload the lotus.
He pays you 3000 gp if you brought all 5 pounds, or 2400 gp if you only brought 4.
(Agreeing to "join for a round" just force-rests your party.)
  • When you step out of the tent, you are confronted by a group of Shadow Thieves led by a mage named Quass.
He wants you to betray your guildmaster to stop him from assembling the Kerykeion.
    • CHOICE: Reject his offer.
You have to fight them. This locks you into the "Gerard's Gambit" ending (see below).
    • CHOICE: Accept his offer.
He gives you a fake Kerykeion piece[23]. This locks you into the "No Honor Among Thieves" ending (see below).
  • Report back to Rigaldo. He takes the gold you collected for the lotus, and pays you your share: 750 gp if you delivered all 5 pounds of the lotus, or 480 gp if you delivered only 4.
  • Now, depending on which ending you chose, continue with either the next section or the one after that:

ENDING 1: Gerard's Gambit[]

Outdated icon This section is outdated:
It documents version 3.3 of the mod, and needs to be updated for version 4.
  • This is the version of the final quest of this quest-line that you get if you chose not to betray your guildmaster during the Quass encounter in ↑ step 10.
Another condition for continuing is that you must have completed[24] all 6 of ↓ Liedel's bounties, so do that if you haven't already.
  • Once these conditions are met, attempt to travel anywhere from Beregost via the worldmap.
Your journey gets interrupted by an encounter with a mortally wounded thief, who turns out to be one of Baldwin's spies.
He drops an encoded note[25], so pick it up.
  • Bring the note to guildmaster Baldwin in the den.
He decyphers that the antagonist who hired the Shadows Thieves and holds the last Kerykeion piece, is none other than local nobleman Gerard Travenhurst.
Baldwin runs off towards Travenhurst Manor and orders you to meet him there.
  • Exit the den and enter Travenhurst Manor, the large building at the top edge of Beregost.
A cutscene plays in which Baldwin kills Gerard and takes the final Kerykeion piece. (How you respond to this does not matter.)
  • Shadow Thieves led by Baldwin's brother Richard then step out of the shadows. They argue, but Baldwin manages to assemble the Kerykeion and use it.
This turns him into a hostile snake-like abomination. Defeat him.
  • Richard explains that Gerard's piece was fake, and meant to trick Baldwin. He then gives you the real remaining Kerykeion piece, and offers a truce.
  • Guild sage Saradin enters, and offers you the position of guildmaster.
Congratulations for completing the Gorgon's Eye main quest-line!

ENDING 2: No Honor Among Thieves[]

Outdated icon This section is outdated:
It documents version 3.3 of the mod, and needs to be updated for version 4.
  • This is the version of the final quest of this quest-line that you get if you chose to betray your guildmaster during the Quass encounter in ↑ step 10.
  • Bring the fake Kerykeion piece that Quass gave you to guildmaster Baldwin in the den.
  • Then, when you walk near the entrance room of the den again, Eurynome Rhade(700.1200) calls you over and uses the code-phrase that identifies him as a Shadow Thieves operative.
Talk to him again, and tell him you are ready.
  • Shadow Thieves led by Baldwin's brother Richard step out of the shadows. Some guild members switch to your side.
In the chaos, Baldwin manages to assemble the Kerykeion and use it.
This turns Baldwin into a snake-like abomination, who attacks you together with the nearby guildmates who remained loyal to him: Rigaldo, Ariosh, Zeda, 2 rogues, and 2 smugglers.
    Defeat them.
  • Afterwards, Richard gives you the real remaining Kerykeion piece as your reward.
  • Liedel leaves to join the Shadow Thieves, but Eurynome Rhade, Gilbald, and Meredia remain in the den of the now-defunct guild.
Congratulations for completing the Gorgon's Eye main quest-line!

Running the guild[]

Outdated icon This section is outdated:
It documents version 3.3 of the mod, and needs to be updated for version 4.

Upon completing the mod's main quest-line, you can accept the position of guildmaster.

Then talk to Saradin(1300.500) in the back-room of the den, to give instructions for how risky each of the various guild operations should operate.

Instruction details

Guild risk starts out at the baseline value of 0.
The following eight instructions each increase guild risk by 1:

  • thieves ▸ focus more on upper class targets
  • thieves ▸ forcefully mug as many targets as possible
  • thieves ▸ use more physical violence
  • smugglers ▸ expand operations farther out
  • smugglers ▸ continue focusing on the black lotus
  • bounty hunters ▸ continue doing assassinations
  • gamesmen ▸ decrease the payout to 10%
  • courtesans ▸ decrease their rates

The following instruction decreases guild risk by 2:

  • bounty hunters ▸ stop assassinations and instead stick to live bounties

7+ days later, return to Saradin to collect the guild profits – between 750 and 2000 gp, depending on how much risk you chose.
You can then change the instructions for the following week, or keep them the same.

Profit details
Guild risk Weekly profit
2 or less 750 gp
between 3 and 7 1500 gp
8 2000 gp

This effectively gives your party a weekly income.
