The Call of the Wild Mage is Neera's companion quest in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.
Acquisition[]
This quest can be started once you meet Neera in the lower level of Bridgefort, in a cell near the teleportation circle.
Walkthrough[]
Neera is haunted, by Adoy, and she needs your help to get rid of his never-ending voices in her head, fast. Agree to help her brew her potion, she'll give you a list of the ingredients she needs:
- Potion of Perception, various places, sold by Belegarm at the Flaming Fist encampments.
- Giant Spider Leg, taken from the body of the Seven-Legged Spider in the Spider Cave in the Forest of Wyrms.
- Planetar Feather, found in a cart near Vichand in the crusader camp at Boareskyr Bridge. It may be purchased for 500
(Charisma ≥ 14 required), given to the party if he's charmed, intimidated out of him (Strength ≥ 16 required) , or looted after killing him (he can be killed without the rest of the camp taking notice). The party can also wait for the time Vichand goes to pray with Hormorn, leaving a guard in his place to deal with. - Belladonna, found in a few spots in the middle area of the Bloodbark Grove in Chapter Ten.
- Wilhelmina's Miracle Turnip Juice, you only have one chance to get this potion so be sure to get it when you talk to Wilhelmina at the northern part of the Coalition Camp in Chapter Ten, or if Neera is in your party, she'll purchase it from Wilhelmina instead.
While the quest is begun in Chapter Nine, it cannot be finished until Chapter Ten.
Before giving Neera the final ingredient(s), add her to your party; otherwise, the quest will end prematurely. Then, give her any remaining ingredients and rest somewhere with her in the party. After some further dialogue, she will prompt you to find an entrance to the Fugue Plane. Finally, travel to Kanaglym in the Underground River caverns to meet Adoy's ghost to complete the quest and receive 18,000 XP.
Bugs[]
- When purchasing from Vichand, if the lead character's inventory is full, the feather will be dropped and the game will proceed as if nothing was purchased, though it will still subtract the gold.
