Tazit's Dead Father is a side quest in Throne of Bhaal. A boy in Saradush, Tazit, will ask you to "wake up" his father, Fezhak, killed on the street by one of the Yaga Shura's catapults.
For a dialogue option of resurrecting Fezhak to be available, the party needs to possess a Rod of Resurrection. Failing that, it must send an appropriate party member to talk to Tazit. Jaheira will do the job no question asked, but other characters need to meet certain criteria:
- That character must be a Cleric, Druid or Paladin, or any kit, multi or dual-class involving these,
- But it must not be Keldorn or a Blackguard.
- Someone (anyone) in the party must either have a scroll of Raise Dead or one spell memorized of Raise Dead, Resurrection or a Shaman's Recall Spirit.
If the above conditions are met, one or more raising dialogue options will become available, and picking any of them will start a short cutscene where Fezhak is resurrected.
Note: Raising the father will not cost any charge from the Rod of Resurrection or consume the Raise Dead scroll, nor will it burn a memorized spell. From a gameplay standpoint, some of the raising means should not even be possible – Paladins can't cast such high level spells for instance.
