Too many infoboxes?[]
I don't like how there are so many infoboxes that are several times the length of the article itself. Seems like it should be separated out into several NPC pages. I don't have time to work on it myself right now. -Caraamon (talk) 18:45, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, it occurred to me pretty recently that multiple infoboxes per page are a big no no on mobile. :( We might want to revisit ALL pages that do it, after having found a satisfying set of alternatives and assuming Lich and Artimis come to agree. But since we all have better things to do, maybe just having us aware of the concern going forward is good enough. ^^

- Honestly, my preference is for one page for each item that needs a different infobox, previously because of some extensions that Fandom doesn't have, and now because it seems like it makes DPL stuff much easier. It also feels cleaner to me, to have one page per (as an example) game for each of the crossover items/characters that change at all between them. But looking at existing articles, that doesn't seem to be shared by previous editors. And that might require doing a lot of " (Siege of Dragonspear)" type names, and I'm totally not bitter about it, nope not at all, not one bit, no siree, nuh uh, not at all... -Caraamon (talk) 05:58, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Heheh. I've renounced my preferences plenty of times and so have they, it's inevitable, so might as well embrace it as funny! Maybe it's a whack-a-mole game where our proposals are moles, and the voters are doing the whacking. I've never seen a decent-sized wiki where editing freedom is this large though.
- On multiple infoboxes per page, previous editors didn't know how that looks on mobile. Pretty sure they'll be like "bummer...so uh..." when they see it along with the proportion of wiki visits that occur on a mobile screen. :)
- Then again, mobile screen also means tables cannot have more than 3 reasonably not-large columns or 4 tiny ones. {{isDesktop}} is nice for table issues though.
