Within a chamber located within Spellhold Bodhi's Hunt Level 1 and part of the Escaping the asylum questline in Baldur's Gate II Chapter 4 is a group of eleven statues adjacent to the room's walls, as well as a single chest set on the floor that can be opened.

Description[]

Within the chest are eleven items, as well as a scroll titled the Warden's Note. Reading the Note, has the following text:

"Heed this, inmate!

The true test of madness is the simple measurement of the mind's precision. The cured shall be rewarded. The afflicted shall wander without recourse."

— Warden's Note

The eleven items (not including the Note) which are found in the chest are:

Gameplay[]

Although the note does not explicitly provide instructions of what to do, as it is a test of the inmate's mental faculties, the observant player may notice that each statue is posed in a position holding an empty bowl, as if ready to receive an item.

Additionally, if the player hovers the game cursor over an individual statue and interacts by clicking the "question mark" - then a text message will display a riddle. Each riddle is a clue as to what item best matches with the statue's riddle.

An item from the chest should be removed and taken into a party members inventory, and that member should transfer the item desired to the statue's bowl.

If all eleven items are correctly placed in each corresponding statue, a reward of 20,000 party shared XP is awarded, and within the chest is placed a Dusty Rose Ioun Stone and a special Sapphire Stone.

If you are having difficulty, and need assistance, see the Solving the statues riddle article. Visiting that page can make the Warden concerned about the bhaalspawn's problem solving capabilities.
