Statue GORSTA06 has an appearance of a Hobgoblin. He's found in the Watcher's Keep Altar Level near to the Altar.

Note: This statue may not be present if the party entered this dungeon with an average XP level below 14.


Part of the second activated group (4 - 8) Statues (WK Altar Level) that attack the party based on actions taken at the Altar and interacting with the Altar Guardian spirit.

This creature will move toward the closest party member detected and engage in melee combat until destroyed or incapacitated.

The creature looks like a humanoid creature with no visible held weaponry or armor worn. The Hobgoblin appearance belies the actual attacks which are similar to that of an adult Wyvern, including a poisonous tail sting.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod completely changes this creature to a Human male level 25 mage (16,000 XP). Upon installation of the mod a mage kit will be randomly assigned (Conjurer, Enchanter, Invoker or Necromancer). The mage kit assigned determines the new revised AI mage script and scripted spells used by the creature.

Expect a chain on instantly deployed buffs, such as Spell Trap, Mirror Image, Shadow Door, and Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Energy Blades (wizard), Protection From The Elements, SI Divination (or Dispelling Screen with Spell Revisions), Shield (spell), Protection From Normal Missiles and Protection From Magic Energy.

Also, Mesthil's Acid Sheath with the SR mod.

The mage will also have prepared Minor Sequencer, Spell Sequencer, and Spell Trigger ready for scripted conditional use.

As this is a Throne of Bhaal dungeon, the mage will use various mage High-level class ability such as Comet, Summon Dark Planetar, and Dragon's Breath (spell).

The mage is equipped with a Quarterstaff +1 and has a potion to quaff for healing damage.

The creature is also provided with several immunities: Power Word, Stun, Confused, Panic, Morale break, Silence, and Stun.

Plenty of spells will be scripted to remove party protections, they'll be a Time Stop, and potential use of several level 8 and 9 spells.

This creature may be the most dangerous one of all the statues present.
