Baldur's Gate Wiki

Boo doesn't like this place... He had a bad experience with a web once. He does not want to talk about it.

The Spider Lair is area in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

It is a small cave at the base of the mountain in the Forest of Wyrms. As its name suggests, it is home to a number of monstrous spiders, as well as several Web-effect traps. If M'Khiin is with the party, she will comment about being bothered by all the moans from the dead spirits.

Layout[]

Along the walls are four unhighlighted spots that when hovered over will show the "hand holding a ring" icon that will produce Spider Silk when interacted with. The Seven-Legged Spider will drop a Giant Spider Leg once killed.

The first chamber off the main path has a horde of various spiders, a Web-type trap, and at the back, a wall crack with Severance +2 and several gems.

In a chamber to the northeast is a dead goblin with Goblin Hide Armor +2, which will trigger another conversation with M'Khiin.

After killing all the spiders and entering the westernmost chamber, the quest/event Beetles and Spiders will begin.

Strategy[]

The large number of spiders, and corresponding poison, potentially necessitates the use of a large number of Slow Poison, Neutralize Poison, and Antidote potions.

Notes[]

The four Spider Silks needed for the Anniversary Gift quest Khalid will give the player in Chapter 10 are difficult to detect. To collect them, you'll need to move the cursor over the webs on the walls, and in four places the cursor will change to indicate there's an item to loot. The lootable webs won't glow when pressing the highlight key, making them hard to identify. It may be easier to simply wait until you reach chapter 10 and can loot the Hidden Cellar in Dead Man's Pass.
