Sorcerous Amin can be found within the Imnesvale Inn with Baron Metrich. This wizard functions as one of the Baron's guards.

As a battle begins, this mage can actually be disrupted before being able to initiate any protective spells. The wizard will attempt to apply a Spell Deflection and a Spell Immunity Invocation as well as Stoneskin. Whether successful or not the mage will then attempt to try a Mirror Image. After that offensive or disabling spells will be selected on observed targets, such as Power Word, Silence at clerics or Mages in the party. A Pierce Magic is aimed at a party member who has a Spell turning protection. Remove Magic is cast as well. A Power Word, Stun is likely attempted, and then various disabling and damage dealing spells. The wizard can attempt an additional stoneskin if the first is removed, consumed or breached.

Sword Coast Stratagems mod assigns a default SCS "Smarter Mage" script for threat and vulnerability assessed spell casting behavior. Amin is now a level 14 Conjurer. The mage will launch a series of uninterruptible self-buffs upon commencement of hostilities. These include Mirror Image, Shadow Door, Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Fireshield (Blue), Minor Spell Deflection, Spell Immunity Divination, Shield (spell), Protection From Normal Missiles, Stoneskin and Non-Detection.

Now cloaked in invisibility, the mage will attempt to conjure an Invisible Stalker to smash the party. Then the mage will utilize its advanced script to conduct opponent vulnerability assessments to determine what appropriate spells are best to harm the party or counter party protections on observed targets in range. This could include another self-buff such as Mantle, or a Spell sequencer. The mage has a contingency of Improved Invisibility which will automatically fire if certain threat conditions present, as well as another stoneskin if breached or the initial one is removed/consumed.

A variety of spell protection and combat removal options are possible using Secret Word and Breach. As a conjurer, the mage favors summoned creatures as its best attack option, attempting to bring forth various elementals and monsters. The mage also has some quick casting Power Word, Silence to shut down an unprotected Cleric or Mage. The mage has the following prepared for instant use:
