The Skull of Death is a helmet that, as its name implies, resembles a skull. It allows the wearer to cast a Death Spell once per day.

It appears in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Throne of Bhaal and the Enhanced edition.

Location[]

  • The Skull of Death can be taken from Vithal during A Mage's Proposal after his visit of the last gate, the one with a Greater Air Elemental, by either pickpocketing it from him, or killing him (demand all of the treasure to get him to attack you).
  • If you want to pickpocket it from him then he has many scrolls that you will retrieve first. So start pickpocketing him at the first gate.

Description[]

The mad necromancer-lich N'Ashtar Nikadeemus forged this helmet from the bones of his own parents. His highest ranked general would wear it when he rode into battle, using it to instantly slay the commander of the opposing army. After that, the skeletal armies of N'Ashtar would overrun their demoralized enemies. When N'Ashtar finally fell, the Skull of Death was supposedly destroyed.
