Skeletons are the re-animated bones of slain humanoids. They can be summoned by mages (particularly necromancers) and clerics, though they may also be found in almost any area around the Sword Coast, Amn, and Tethyr. They especially favor cemeteries, tombs, and desolate areas.
Be wary of their resistances. They are highly resistant to piercing and slashing damage, nigh indestructible by normal missiles, and completely immune to cold. Blunt weapons, such as maces or staves, and magic work best.

Trivia[]
- The offical website for the original game, now archived, noted the following about these creatures:[1]
All skeletons are magically animated undead monsters, created as guardians or warriors by powerful evil wizards and priests.
Skeletons appear to have no ligaments or musculature, which would allow movement. Instead, the bones are magically joined together during the casting of an Animate Dead spell. Skeletons have no eyes or internal organs.
