Area West of High Hedge is one of the areas from the World Map.

The Area West of High Hedge is also known as Shipwreck's Coast. It is a peninsula connecting only to High Hedge.

Plot

The Surgeon is the brother of Davaeorn and mentions him in his dialogue.

Characters

Shoal and Droth

Using a character other than your main, talk to Shoal the Nereid (3043,436), who will ask for help. She will then kiss that party member. The kiss is an attack that will either kill or bring the recipient down to 1 hit point, unless they successfully save vs. breath, which will turn Shoal to enemy status. After taking some damage, Shoal will break in and say that she doesn't want to die for "the master". If you offer to help her, she will restore your dead party member and you must battle Droth - an Ogre Mage. Kill him and talk to Shoal afterwards for 750 xp. If you act quickly, you may still be able to kill Shoal for 5,000 xp with no loss to reputation. Killing her for the 5,000 xp without talking to her to get 750 xp more is much easier though.

Mad Arcand

Talk to Mad Arcand (2005, 1263). If your NPC Reaction is 15-20 he asks you to collect a ring from the wrecked ship SW from his position. Agree. Collect the ring and return it to him. Even if your Reaction is too low for him to ask for your help you can still bring the ring to him. It's cursed so don't wear it or keep it.

• KILL MAD ARCAND: 2,000 xp, Discipliner, Quarter Staff, 32 gp, reputation penalty for killing an innocent

The Surgeon

Ask the Surgeon (2888, 2079) who he is and he will give you a potion and start healing injured party members. He can be pickpocketed, but if pickpocketing fails he will become hostile and attack the party with Magic Missile spells. If you kill him after he goes hostile, you receive 975XP for no reputation loss, and he drops the items which could be pickpocketed from him.
