Shadow Patrick is a unique shadow encountered in the final battle of the Ruined Temple during the Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn or Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition campaign.
He was originally a Ranger named Patrick, who was part of an adventuring party led by Mazzy Fentan, only to fall in battle against the Shade Lord and its army of shadow minions. All the members of the party, except Mazzy, were killed at the Shadow Altar by a Shadow Dragon that was under the command of the Shade Lord. Patrick was subsequently transformed into a shadow and became a personal guard to the Shade Lord.
Dialogue[]
If Mazzy Fentan is part of the player's party when they first encounter Shadow Patrick, there is a short sequence of dialogue between the former comrades.
"Sssssthhh... Mazzy... you left us here... no matter... join the delightful darknesss..."
- "Patrick! ...No, not Patrick, only his twisted spirit! My poor friends, what has he done to you?"
"He's given us back... our existence... sssthhh... we're all here, Mazzy. Join us... embrace the master..."
Gameplay[]
Shadow Patrick doesn't use shadow attack (SHADOWWP.ITM) in battle. Instead it uses the Composite Longbow that it's equipped with for missile attacks with normal arrows.
In melee combat it uses the Duskblade halberd.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod makes revisions to the creature's AI and adds better tactical behavior for a melee fighting ranger class. Weapon proficiencies are adjusted to 2 pips in Halberd, 2 pips in two-handed weapon style, and 2 pips in Longbow. Strength ability is improved to 18/76. Now it can legally use a Composite Longbow.
