Shadow Fiends are a tougher variety of of the Shadow.

Gameplay[]

They cannot be harmed by non-magical weapons. Shadow fiends have the same ability scores and saving throws as shadows (including their poor save vs spells of 16), but more hit points, and changes in resistances; they are immune to fire, but severely vulnerable to electricity damage (-128%).

So, for example, in the Enhanced Editions, a single well-aimed Lightning Bolt can easily clear an entire pack of them.

Their touch attack deals 1d6 Crushing damage with a range of one foot and a speed factor of three.

Each successful hit upon a living target forces a Saving throw vs. Death to negate being paralyzed for 30 seconds. A "Held" icon displays on the character's portrait. The effect can be dispelled and does not bypass resistance.
