Baldur's Gate Wiki

Scimitar +1 in an enchanted weapon which can inflict 1d8 +1 points of slashing damage and has -1 THAC0 bonus. It weighs 3 lbs and it has a speed factor of 4. This item appears in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

The scimitar, or "shamshir" as it was originally called, has a single-edged blade with a significant curve, and is tapered to an elongated, sharp point. It is perhaps slower than other weapons of the same type, though it compensates by the amount of damage it is capable of. This particular weapon has been enhanced magically to compliment the skill of the wielder.
