Samia is relic hunter who can be found in Firkraag's Maze in the Windspear Hills.
| “ | Hold! I warn you, I have killed many of your brethren to get this... Oh, forgive my manner. I feared you were another grouping of orcs come to harass me. | ” |
Gameplay[]
She initiates dialogue with the closest party member - to assist in a hunt for some texts about an ancient ruler in his burial chamber. She offers a key to access the maze area beyond that supposedly contains these texts.
If the party accepts her offer and agrees to help, then the dialogue will finish with several bits of information, and the key is provided. She'll say:
- "I thank you. Here is a key which opens the first door. Inside you should find the tomb, though I doubt it will be unguarded."
If later the party decides not to pursue the maze or only partially explored, then they can return to Samia and tell her so and return the key. This leads to hostilities. She'll say:
- "What? Blast, why did I waste my time on this idiotic plan? Did you hear that, Akae?! Your stupid plan has failed! We'll be doing it ourselves, just as I thought!"
If the party rejects Samia's offer of the key, and refuses to help her, this also leads to hostilities. She'll say:
- "Why can't you help? I should think an adventuring sort like you would jump at the chance to help someone in need. Are you sure you will not change your mind?"
And if the party still refuses, she'll say:
- "Blast. I hoped to get you to do the grunt work. I'll do it, but not with you at my back. You'd leave me dead and take whatever I found... that's what I was planning."
Regardless of the path chosen, at some point the party will probably be in conflict with Samia and her group of five other relic hunters.
In combat she acts as a ordinary melee fighter, attacking with her scimitar. She may quaff a Potion of Extra Healing when her hit points fall to a scripted predetermined percentage.
All of the items listed in the InfoBox may be scavenged from her corpse if defeated. The exception will be Samia's Key if she has already provided it to the party.
Note[]
In the classic game her alignment was Chaotic Neutral.

Mod content[]
This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.
The Sword Coast Stratagems mod makes a few changes to Samia. Foremost she has a new default smarter fighter script for better threat recognition, vulnerability assessments and improved tactical behavior. She is provided 5 pips in scimitar weapon proficiency, and 2 pips in sword and shield fighting style. This will improve her Attacks per round, weapon damage and THAC0. Her armor class versus missile will be boosted. In addition, more random potions may be quaffed/applied during combat for healing or boosting abilities.
