The Rhynn Lanthorn is a quest item in Chapter 6 of Shadows of Amn. It's needed to gain access to Suldanessellar and advance to Chapter 7.

| “ | The Rhynn Lanthorn is an artifact from ruined Myth Rhynn. It was highly prized by the city's rulers, as it shone through all falsehoods and illusions. The device, with the lenses in place, can dispel the illusions that hide Suldanessellar. | ” |
Gameplay[]
As Elhan and Gorion's Ward correctly surmised, Bodhi had indeed taken possession of the Lanthorn. This can be resolved in The final battle with Bodhi questline.
When Bodhi is reduced to 0 HP (requires using the Elven Holy Water on a bloodbath font in her inner sanctum) - then her Mist/Bat form retreats to her nearby coffin.
Use a Wooden Stake on the coffin to permanently destroy her. If the script works correctly, the player will get a screen text message, a Journal update registered, and quest experience point award to the party members. Additionally, the Rhynn Lanthorn and Bodhi's Black Heart will be placed into the character's Inventory.

According to unused item files and unused dialog for Elhan some plot was initially intended in which missing pieces were to be found after the player gets the broken Lanthorn from Bodhi. The areas Small Teeth Pass and North Forest were to be involved in the plot as well.
