Westchar is a village in northern Amn added by the Region of Terror mod.

All the villagers are trained fighters – except for the black sheep, Emanath, who became a wizard and has recently turned hostile and started sending monsters to the village.

A walkthrough for each quest follows below.

Main quest (Westchar portion)[]

The portion of the Region of Terror main quest that plays in Westchar, involves the mysterious locked house at the bottom edge of the village. See Main quest ▸ Westchar.

Westchar in Troubles[]

  • (PRELUDE: If you unlocked Westchar via Ryon in Waukeen's Promenade, he already gave you an introduction for this quest – but this is not necessary.)
  • Talk to the village leader Hedan in the Westchar tavern, and agree to face Emanath (the wizard sending monsters to the village).
Hedan gives you "Emantah's House Key" [KEYFUH].
  • Enter[1] Emanath's house in the top-left corner of Westchar.
Inside, there is a portal in the form of two large hovering symbols.
    • Click the portal, to be teleported to Emanath's Pocket Plane – and refer to that article for a walkthrough of the dungeon-crawl portion of this side-quest.
(Warning: Once you enter the pocket plane, you cannot leave until you have dealt with Emanath there.)
  • Once your party is back in Westchar, report to Hedan in the tavern. You get:
    • 35,000 exp per party member — if you convinced Emanath to leave.
    • 40,000 exp per party member — if you convinced Emanath to leave, but claim that you killed him.
    • 40,000 exp per party member — if you killed Emanath.
    • 45,000 exp per party member — if you killed Emanath, and say that the reward was never important.

Revenge on the Behalf of Hands[]

  • Talk to Hands in the large house at the center-top of Westchar, and agree to take revenge for the killing of his son.
He marks "Hunting Forest"/"Forest" on your worldmap.
(TIP: The side-quest "Hunting" takes you to the same forest – you can complete them in one go.)
  • Travel to the Hunting Forest – and refer to that article for a walkthrough of the dungeon-crawl portion of this side-quest. When done, continue here.
  • Return to Hands in Westchar, for 15,000 exp per party member (or only 10,000 if you report back without giving him his son's body).

Hunting[]

  • Talk to Lorem in his small cabin near the right entrance to Westchar.
He asks you to bring him meat, and marks "Hunting Forest"/"Forest" on your worldmap.
(TIP: The side-quest "Revenge on the Behalf of Hands" takes you to the same forest – you can complete them in one go.)
  • Travel to the Hunting Forest, and kill animals until you have collected 13 pieces of meat (or however many you can carry). See that article for detals.
  • Deliver the meat to Lorem in Westchar. If it's not enough, you have to make another round.
Once you have given him 13 chunks of meat, you get 100 gp and 25,000 exp.

Molly's Stolen Necklace[]

  • Talk to Molly in her appartment utstairs from the Westchar tavern, and agree to retrieve her stolen necklace. (She suspects Burrich.)
  • Talk to Burrich the barkeeper downstairs. He denies any involvement.
(If you press him for a hint, he mentions Jinna – but this is not necessary.)
  • Talk to Jinna in the same room. She tells you that she saw a boy sneak into Molly's apartment.
  • On the outdoors map, to the left of the tavern, talk to the boy with the two dogs (1200.1350).
He says that "the evil man" made him do it.
  • Return to Jinna in the tavern. She tells you that "the evil man" refers to the man in the stilt house.
  • Enter the cabin on tall stilts to the left of the tavern (by clicking on its ladder (1100.1600)).
Talk to the villager inside. He turns hostile. Kill him, and loot the necklace from his body.
  • Return the necklace to Molly in her apartment. You get 50 gp and 2000 exp per party member (or only 1000 if you mention that you killed the man).

Save the Children[]

  • Approach the three children in the top-left portion (800.900) of the Westchar outdoors map.
After a cutscene of the children arguing, three orcs appear, and the children's mother shouts for help.
Kill the orcs to get 2000 exp per party member.

The Strange Talking Armor[]

This quest starts in Spirit Soaring, but leads you to Westchar.
See Spirit Soaring ▸ The Strange Talking Armor.

Footnotes

  1. The door is locked, and the key from Hedan is the only way to open it.
