Red Canyons, also known as Area South of High Hedge, is an area of red rocks and boulders. This is the destination for parties seeking the 5,000 
reward for Bassilus' death. The quest giver, Kelddath Ormlyr, is an important figure in other D&D literature about the Beregost area.
- Kissiq(
2600.1500) tells the party of the 'fiendish' talking chicken, which turns out to be the Wizard Thalantyr the Conjurer's apprentice after a polymorph experiment gone wrong. Find Melicamp to start the Restoring Melicamp side quest. - Roger(
1100.3400) will inform party about growing political crisis in relations between Amn and Baldur's Gate. - Bassilus(
4229.2797), within a stone druid circle surrounded by his undead 'family': his quest yields 5,000 GP; go see the priest Kelddath Ormlyr at his Temple. You can remove all Bassillus' skeleton army by choosing dialog options 1, 3, 1, 1. - The hobgoblin Zargal(
2900.2445) drops a Short Sword +2 and his hobgoblin allies Malkax and Geltik, drop some moderate loot.
