Rakshasas are powerful spirits in a humanoid tiger's body.
“ | Rakshasa, if you have never encountered them, are devious shapeshifters and thieves. | ” |
Gameplay[]
They are immune to non-magical weapons as well as spell and item effects with a level between 1 and 7. They can cast spells, usually up to the 6th level. They drop non-magical long swords when killed.

Notes[]
- Typically, they are of chaotic neutral alignment in the original Baldur's Gate II and lawful evil in the Enhanced Editions, but neutral evil individuals exist.
- Some are classified as humanoids while others are classified as monsters.
Trivia[]
- The correct plural form of their name is ambiguous: some sources use rakshasas, while others don't add the "s". The Monstrous Compendium from the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition ruleset, which the Baldur's Gate series is based on, states "rakshasa" as male singular and also demonym, "rakshasi" as female singular, and "rakshasas" as plural.
