Radiant Mephits are small, minor elemental creatures that are first encountered in Irenicus's Dungeon. Every 16 seconds, they can cast a version of Color Spray able to put targets to sleep regardless of level.

Gameplay[]

A Radiant Mephit can attack twice per round in melee for 1d3 (slashing) damage. It also has the Color Spray (innate) ability.

The mephit will initiate the Color Spray attack, which launches a multi-colored fan projectile at a single target in range and it can potentially affect any creature within the spreading arc of the spray. A Saving throw vs. Spells is required or the creature will be subjected to an effect that will make them Unconscious for five rounds. Unlike the arcane spell Color Spray, this version can affect any creature regardless of their Hit dice/Experience level. The creature will attempt a spray as soon as a creature is in range. After a 16 second delay interval, where the mephit will attack in melee, it will then attempt another spray. It has an unlimited supply of this ability.

This mephit can regenerate 1 HP per round and moves faster than a typical creatures speed.

This type of mephit has no magic, physical damage or elemental resistance. The InfoBox summarizes their special abilities and immunities to certain status effects. The game has the creature with a memorized Blur spell but it isn't scripted to use it, so it is probably just a developer creature file copy-paste remnant.

This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn campaign.
In the original Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, some ice mephits are falsely also named Radiant Mephit. In the original and Expanded Edition game, the mephit is retains the Ice Mephit's Ice Shard innate ability, but won't use by script. Probably another copy and paste remnant from the developers.
