Priests of Oghma are only found within the walls of Candlekeep and none are found anywhere else in the game. During the Prologue one can be found within the Temple of Oghma and a second priest is inside the clinic. During Chapter Six the same priest is still in the temple while a second priest can be found inside the Priests' Quarters. Six more are found within the library on floors two through five.

As a neutral alignedlawful in the original Baldur's Gate, true in the Enhanced Edition – priest of The Lord of Knowledge, he's eager to share his patron's wisdom with people he likes.

Good friend, would you like me to give you a sermon on the wisdom of Oghma? No, well perhaps another time.[1]

Temple of Oghma[]

Priest at the temple during the Prologue

I am pleased to see that you have taken time to pay tribute to wise Oghma.[2]

The priest found in the temple offers his services during the prologue and in chapter six. He is able to identify items, accepts donations, offer some healing capabilities, and has the normal temple complement of potions and scrolls available, with no restocking between chapters.

In BGEE, this is also the priest who appears at the Candlekeep main gate to heal the wounds of Gorion's Ward, whether injured or not, when Gorion and his foster-child are ready to leave at the end of the prologue.

Clinic[]

The priest and his patients

I am very busy with my patients, I'll have to ask that you give me some room.[3]

A Priest of Oghma can be found tending to patients in the clinic in Candlekeep during the prologue.

As one "never can tell",[4] the caring priest offers a Potion of Healing once if addressed; this can be accepted or declined. He carries a second one in his inventory; both potions can be pickpocketed.(50)

Constantly on the move inside the clinic, he might witness a thief stealing a third potion of healing from the locked(25) desk in the sleeping cubicle and summon a watcher.

Library[]

Two priests on the second floor of the Library

You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out, you put your left foot in, and you shake it all about— Oh! I, uh, didn't see you there... The wisdom of Oghma manifests itself in, uh, many ways... I'll be on my way now.[5]

Several priests are found throughout the library between the second and fifth floors when the library becomes accessible in chapter six. One each is found standing between the stairs and a desk on floors two through five and serves as the coordinator for that particular floor. A second priest is found on floors two and four and will provide some insightful information on a few of the current guests found within the library.

There are members of the Iron Throne within these walls, violating the sanctity of our precious library as we speak! Alaundo would not have tolerated such a blasphemy in Oghma's holy sepulcher! Steer clear from them, child, lest they infect you with their ways.[6]

Priest's Quarters[]

Priest with cats inside the Priest's Quarters

Hthsss! You startled me, child.[7]

Also in chapter six, a Priest of Oghma is observed studying a dead cat in the Priests' Quarters. Continued pestering results in the priest revealing its true self

Must you pry so hard, you meddlesome brat?! Thsss, forget the plan! I'll taste you now, I will, and study your dead flesh as I do the cat![8]

and, when it is dealt with, the following Journal entry:

Doppelganger Attack

A doppelganger tried to kill me today, approaching in the disguise of one of the older priests. Where there's one, there must be others. I don't know which of my friends is real and which is an imposter.[9]
