Potion of Regeneration is available in all Baldur's Gate game versions.
Description[]
“ | This is a powerful elixir that imbues the drinker with the regeneration ability similar to that of a troll, wounds literally closing over and healing as you watch. The effect, which lasts for 3 turns, is to regenerate 2 hit points per round. | ” |
Gameplay[]
Usable by any class character, when the potion is quaffed a text string will display "gulp" and the player character will have an icon displayed on their portrait, No. 87 "Regenerating". A sound effect is audible when first using the potion.
For a duration of 180 seconds (30 rounds or 3 Turns) the potion's Regeneration effect will restore 1 Hit point every 3 seconds. When the duration expires, the icon is removed, and a sound effect is audible signifying the end of the regeneration.
A Dispel Magic effect can remove this potion's effects from an imbiber before it expires.
Drinking more than one of these potions has no additive effect. It will simply refresh the duration of the regeneration.
A character under the Haste effect will have an increased rate of regeneration.
Note[]
Despite indicating that the potion will give a regeneration similar to a troll, it is not as powerful as that, but only 1/3 as rapid as the troll's innate regeneration.
