Baldur's Gate Wiki

The Potion of Persuasiveness is a potion that temporarily boost the imbiber's charisma value.

The potion has a duration of 3-hours (15 turns).

The item is only available during the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear campaign and is sold by various vendors (see the InfoBox).

Description[]

Very much as the name implies, this potion will increase the Charisma of the imbiber by 4 points, up to a maximum of 25. The effect will last the full duration, which is 3 hours, or until dispelled.

Gameplay[]

When the user quaffs this potion, a sound effect is heard in game, and another will be audible when the potion's duration expires. Certain lighting effects and a color fade briefly render over the user after drinking the potion.

The potion provides the following effect:

  • Boosts current Charisma attribute by +4.

The potion's effects are subject to being dispelled.

This potion is coded to not have a cumulative effect with another of the same potion to prevent "stacking", in accordance with the Advanced D&D 2E ruleset.

Trivia[]

The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset has no "Potion of Persuasiveness" listed in the Dungeons Masters Guide (DMG).

Nor is it added by the Encyclopedia Magica.
