Potion of Cold Resistance bestows the consumer with temporary partial resistance against cold damage.
Description[]
| “ | This potion will confer to the imbiber a 50% cold resistance to all cold based attacks for the duration of the enchantment, in this case 10 turns. | ” |
Gameplay[]
Quaffing this potion will instantly apply a preventive protection to the imbiber - a sound effect is audibled when first drunk, as well as a brief lighting effect and color fade, and a "gulp" text string. The character will also show an icon on their portrait; "Protection From Cold".
When the potion expires a second sound effect will audible signifying the end of the potion's effects.
The potion provides the following effect:
- +50% resistance to Cold damage - which is cumulative with other sources of cold damage resistance, although that value cannot exceed 127% in total.
This potion can be removed with any applicable Dispel Magic effect.
Imbibing multiple potions of Cold Resistance will "stack" with additive protection.

The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset has no "Potion of Cold Resistance" or equivalent listed in the Dungeons Masters Guide (DMG). there is a mention of this potion and a price in the Encyclopedia Magica Volume III.
