Gameplay[]
Quaffing this potion will instantly apply a series of preventive protections to the imbiber - a sound effect is audibled when first drunk, as well as a brief lighting effect and color fade, and a "gulp" text string. The character will also show an icon on their portrait; "Protection From Electricity".
When the potion expires a second sound effect will audible signifying the end of the potion's effects.
The potion provides the following effects:
- +10 Armor Class bonus versus Crushing damage attack sources, such as a fist, mace, war hammer, staff, club etc.
- +100% resistance to Electricity damage - which is cumulative with other sources of electricity resistance, although that value cannot exceed 127% in total.
This potion can be removed with any applicable Dispel Magic effect.
Note[]
Although the potion's description states "Multiple uses of this potion will not result in its effect being multiplied" - this is in fact not the case. This potion will "stack" and two or more of the same potions will have additive effects. The potion is not coded with a restriction to prevent stacking, although it could have been.

Trivia[]
The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition ruleset has no "Potion of Absorption" or equivalent listed in the Dungeons Masters Guide (DMG).
The general category of "Potion of Absorption" is covered in the Encyclopedia Magica - although in the PnP game a potion of absorption would be created for one specific source and not both a damage type as well as an energy type combined into the same magical liquid, such as the BG video game creation.
