Oublek the Bounty Officer, also known as Oublek's Mistake, is a quest in Nashkel that you won't learn about until/unless you complete it. Oublek mistakes you for the bounty hunter Greywolf . If you tell him the truth you gain reputation, if you say you're Greywolf, he'll give you 200 GP, but that will make the mission he gives you later impossible, losing XP and a bigger GP reward.

In your Journal[]

If you tell Oublek that he is mistaken, you will get +1 Reputation, and the following entry will appear in the Done Quests section of your Journal:

  • Triggered By: Telling Oublek the truth
  • Journal Section: Done Quests
  • Quest Title: Oublek the Bounty Officer
  • Entry Title: Oublek the Bounty Officer
  • Quest Begins: (no entry)
  • Quest Completed:

A man in Nashkel named Oublek mistook me for a bounty hunter named Greywolf. I cost myself a little gold, but prevented him from making an expensive mistake. Only good things can come of it.

If you instead claim that you are, in fact, Greywolf, a different entry will appear:

  • Triggered By: Telling Oublek that you are Greywolf
  • Journal Section: Done Quests
  • Quest Title: Oublek the Bounty Officer
  • Entry Title: Oublek the Bounty Officer
  • Quest Begins: (no entry)
  • Quest Completed:

Oublek mistook me for one of his bounty hunters. That mistake cost him and Greywolf both, but it enriched me.

Oublek the Bounty Officer is also the title of an unrelated rumor-based entry in the Journal section of your journal.

  • Triggered By: Rumors gathered in Nashkel
  • Journal Section: Journal
  • Entry Title: Oublek the Bounty Officer
  • Entry:

Oublek offers bounties and rewards outside the Nashkel garrison.
