Orogs are a subrace of Orcs that are often found in, but are not limited to, the Underdark. They are bulkier than normal orcs and have longer ears, but their most distinctive trait in-game is their orange skin color.
Like other Humanoids, Orogs can be of any Alignment, but are generally Chaotic Evil. Some exceptions found in the game are Lawful Neutral and Lawful Evil.
Gameplay[]
Orogs of various types are encountered, usually in small groups in various Hit Dice Level configurations ranging from 3 to 5 for most of the game.
In the Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal the Orogs reach their highest Hit Dice and evolution.
The second InfoBox version shown is the pinnacle example of the Orog creature found in the game series.
Orogs for the most part behave as simple melee fighting opponents - attacking the nearest enemy they can detect. Some of these creatures are scripted to "Shout" for help when their hit points fall below a certain threshold.
Locations[]
- Umar Hills during the Ranger-Protector Stronghold quest.
- Firkraag's Maze spawned from a hidden proximity trigger.
- Watcher's Keep Machine of Lum the Mad produces Orogs as a spawned trigger point encounter.
- Sendai's Enclave. The Slavemaster sends them into combat with the party.
