On the Fence is a side quest in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.
Outline[]
A halfling merchant-thief named Waizahb is making a profit on the side by selling loot taken from the Shining Crusade. She asks Gorion's Ward, who she knows will probably be sent to infiltrate the Crusader camp, to retrieve five specific items for her, which she believes she will be able to sell for a significant profit.
Rewards[]
The rewards gained for this quest are staggered; Waizahb will offer an increasing amount of payment as more of her five requested items are obtained. The order that the items are presented to her doesn't matter.
- One item: 2000 xp, 250 gold
- Two items:2000 xp, 500 gold
- Three items: 2000 xp, Pearly White Ioun Stone
- Four items: 2000 xp, 1000 gold
- Five items: 2000 xp, Shadowed Spear +2, Potion of Storm Giant Strength, Potion of Magic Shielding, Potion of Power

Dreon’s Signet Ring[]
To acquire the signet ring of Commander Dreon, Gorion's Ward must be wearing a Crusader's Uniform, which can be acquired from a chest behind the tent where Tristian is standing, while one more can be found in another part of the castle's exterior. Once suitably clad, Gorion's Ward can deceive the commander by telling him that they have reports for him to stamp, and offering to deal with the matter for the overworked commander if he will loan them his ring. Alternatively, it is possible to successfully pickpocket Dreon for his ring.
Battle Standard[]
A Crusader Battle Standard can be found in a chest just west of Commander Dreon. It can be simply taken without any further incident.
Tristian’s Holy Symbol[]
Tristian, a cleric of the Red Knight, can be found in the north-eastern portion of the Crusader camp. There are two options for getting his holy symbol: the "simple" option is to kill him and take it, which will turn the whole camp hostile. But if Gorion's Ward speaks to Mizhena about acquiring the symbol, she can be talked into giving them a Coroniir board, which allows the player to challenge the cleric to a game, with his symbol wagered on the outcome.
Only Gorion's Ward (requires at least 17 Intelligence or Wisdom score), Edwin Odesseiron, Neera, or Dynaheir can challenge and subsequently defeat Tristian at a game of Coroniir. Other companions cannot challenge Tristan even if they have enough intelligence (Baeloth Barrityl for example). The holy symbol cannot be pickpocketed.
Token of Faith[]
A Token of Faith can be acquired by simply pickpocketing one of the Crusader Recruits standing near Deneld in the camp's center.
Annotated Map[]
The Annotated Map can be found on a table in the south-central area of the map, usually guarded only by a lone crusader. Simply taking the map will trigger the hostility of the entire camp, but an invisible or successfully stealthed character can steal it without being seen, or a Charm Person spell can be used on the guarding crusader to move him away from the table, as he will not trigger hostility if the map is taken beyond his sight.
