Offensive Spin is an ability unique to Blades that increases their mobility and damage output for a short duration.

Effects[]

Offensive Spin
During the next 4 rounds, the character's movement rate doubles and <PRO_HESHE> gains a +2 bonus to hit and damage rolls as well as an extra attack per round. All attacks deal maximum damage for the duration. Offensive Spin may not be used in conjunction with the Haste or Improved Haste spells.

The extra attack per round is granted through a normal Haste effect in the original edition. In Enhanced Edition no haste is applied, but the Blade gains a straight +1 APR and movement rate is set to 200% instead.

Enhanced Editions also try to prevent stacking Haste effects with the Spin. Upon being cast, it removes all effects from Oil of Speed and the Haste spell, whether it came from an arcane spellcaster or a Stalker. It then prevents any Haste effect from being (re-)applied for as long as it is active.

Also, activating Offensive Spin again while it is active, does not stack, it merely extends the duration.

Gameplay[]

  • Defensive Spin cannot be used simultaneously. Activating one overrides the other.
  • Despite the description, Offensive Spin can stack with Haste effects under certain conditions. In the original edition, Improved Haste will work if cast after the Spin. In Enhanced Editions, the Spin must be cast last, and only some sources of Haste will be able to stack. For Normal Haste it's anything that's not the Haste spell or an Oil of Speed. For Improved Haste, only sources that do not use the Improved Haste or Wish spells will allow the Spin, like the Bracers of Blinding Strike or the Ring of Gaxx.
