Neutralize Poison is a 4th level priest spell. It heals the target for 10 HP and removes the following status effects: Poison, Disease, Deafness and Blindness.
Description[]
“ | This spell removes all toxins from the body, both natural and magical in nature. When this spell is cast upon a poisoned individual, it immediately neutralizes any poison and restores 10 lost Hit Points. This spell will also cure any diseases that the target might be suffering from, as well as blindness and deafness. | ” |
Gameplay[]
- This spell will also cure the sleep effect from The Visage's Breathe Acid ability.
- The 2nd level priest spell Slow Poison will cure any and all poisons; this spell's advantage is that it heals additional status effects and restores HP, as well as having the shortest casting time (1) of all healing spells. It does lose the ability to cure intoxication, however.

Bugs[]
- In the original Baldur's Gate and Shadows of Amn, Neutralize Poison would only remove the portrait icon and the recurring damage of diseases; it would not undo their secondary effects (such as the THAC0 penalty from ghasts), which had to be waited out for their duration. This was fixed in the Enhanced Editions.
