N'ashtar is one of the Adventuring Party (Underdark) members encountered in the Underdark.
Gameplay[]
If given enough time the Conjurer will self-buff and then begin casting offensive oriented spells at enemies.
This mage will be hostile whenever attacked or if you are in his range of detection. Note that the AI script for this creature is pretty well configured compared to many simple ones found in the basic game.
All the spells scripted for use are annotated in the InfoBox. Spells in memory but not scripted are omitted.
He'll most likely be able to apply a "Tatoo of Power" at the outset of battle and get up several protective spells before he can be struck - and they are not interruptible by damage. A Mislead, SI Evocation and Haste are instantly cast.
After that expect a Remove Magic spell cast upon the closest detected party member.
Death Spell will be attempted if hostile summoned creatures are detected.
If N'ashtar detects a mage class party member, then a Pierce Magic and a Power Word, Stun is scripted.
The mage has a couple of other contingency spell chains to use for protection such as Stoneskin, Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Spell Turning and Mirror Image.
The longer he survives the better chance he'll have to start casting offensive damage dealing spells such as Melf's Acid Arrow, Flame Arrow, Magic Missile and such.
Mod content[]
- This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.
Installation of the Sword Coast Stratagems Mod changes this mage. The Mage may be an Enchanter (randomly determined upon mod installation). Some new memorized spells are added, but no level 8 spells are provided. A minor sequencer and spell sequencer is prepared for instant use and are available to deploy via the SCS "Improved Mages" component. N'ashtar is granted one pip in quarterstaff weapon proficiency. An SCS random treasure is in the creature's inventory.
If the Spell Revisions Mod is installed, this creature's memorized spells and casts will be the SR versions.
