Murs and the Brigands is a side quest in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

Acquisition[]

This quest can be started after walking near an ogre bandit camp in the central-eastern portion of the Underground River Entrance map during Chapter Ten.

Walkthrough[]

When Gorion's Ward arrives, two ogres, Arbinge and Cheski, are arguing about which of them should become the tribe's new leader now that their old leader, Slug, has been kidnapped by the Shining Crusade. Slug's mate Murs protests that they should rescue Slug instead, but she is told to shut up and stay out of it; as a female, she is not allowed to participate in such discussions.

Spotting the party, they will include them in the conversation. The party can simply attack the ogres, or leave, or they can offer to fight Arbinge and Cheski - either to claim leadership over the ogres themselves, or as champion of Murs.

If Gorion's Ward takes part in the fight for leadership, regardless of if they do it for themselves or for Murs, the rules are made clear: they must fight the two challengers alone and without the use of offensive magic*, although healing and bolstering spells like Stoneskin are permissible. This can be accomplished by moving other party members far away from the fight or by turning off the party AI.

If successful, Murs will offer the quest The Dungeon Slug, promising that the ogres will fight on the side of the Alliance when they attack Dragonspear Castle if the party brings back her mate.

*Note- if a mage fights as Murs champion solo, it appears they can use offensive magic (both spells and wands).

Achievements[]

This quest is required to begin The Dungeon Slug, which is required for the achievement All the Allies.
