Disambiguation icon This page is about the moonblade that's found on a dead elven warrior in a house in Suldanessellar. For Xan's moonblade, see Moonblade (Nashkel Mines).

The "Moonblade" is an artifact required as part of the Getting inside the Palace in Suldenessellar questline during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 7.

Description[]

A powerful moonblade, this weapon has become one of the most basic symbols of Suldanessellar. It is truly ancient, and said to have been wielded by the founder of long-ruined Myth Rhynn. It can be used only by its "chosen," a citizen of the city that has proven their worth in a series of mysterious tests unknown to any outsider.

Gameplay[]

Three artifacts must be placed on the altar inside the Temple of Rillifane. These are the Golden Goblet of Life, Talisman of Rillifane, and the Moonblade.

Aquisition[]

After a cut scene "Moonblade Fight" in The House of the Moon between an Elven Warrior (Suldanessellar) and a Balor - both combatants will be killed, the elf sacrificing himself so that the moonblade can destroy the fiend. Searching the dead elf's heroic corpse reveals the Moonblade.
