Merlinous is a Bhaalspawn kobold male Kensai out in the Marching Mountains with other bhaalspawns Chinchilla, Tibbit and Toop the Brave.
Gameplay[]
When a party member is seen by the Chinchilla (she can See the invisible), she'll immediately trigger some text on the screen, as if shrieking:
- "Oh no! We've been discovered, my Bhaalspawn friends! Fight! Fiiighhht!"
The other members of her odd demi human bhaalspawn party will now turn hostile as well - including Merlinious.
This kobold is tougher than he looks with some unusual bhaalspawn powers as seen on the InfoBox, with high magic resistance and physical damage resistance - even with a strength penalty to hit the little sword saint can hit impressive armor class values and make deep cutting wounds.
Merlinous will move to attack the nearest enemy he can detect, seeking to slash with its enchanted Katana - to the death, or when Chinchilla calls for a retreat.
He can automatically apply a Improved Invisibility spell on self at the beginning of hostilities.
The Kensai will use his kit Kai ability, but there is a fifteen-second delay before the next use.
When he is wounded to a 50% threshold, he'll imbibe a healing potion, and another later if the trigger is reached again.
If/when the Chinchilla calls for the bhaalspawns to run away, Merlinious will try and escape the map, but also drops his katana on the ground at the same time.
