Magical rope is a quest-related miscellaneous item in Shadows of Amn. As its name suggests, it is a length of enchanted rope that is required to descend from the Underwater City down the great hole into the Underdark below.

Involvement[]

- The Magical Rope is required for the party to climb into the great pit (
AR2300|4564.2686) that leads to the Underdark; it is removed from inventory once they arrive.
Acquisition[]
The magical rope is obtained in the Underwater City, after the party has been brought here by the sahuagin. There are multiple ways to obtain the rope, and the party is not required to take sides in any conflict:
- obtained from King Ixilthetocal, along with the Rod of Lordly Might and the Gauntlets of Crushing, as a reward for helping him kill Prince Villynaty
