MONHP80.ITM is an undroppable item used by a particular non-player creature to ensure its current Hit point limit isn't changed by any condition while the item is equipped.

The game engine scripting and creature design can use this item to keep a creature viable until a certain plot condition is met, typically removing the item from the creature at that time.
